Remission means something different for us all

Remission means something different for us all.

Let that soak in for a moment.

Remission looks different for all of us… our experiences of the same disease can look so different, so why would we have a blanket idea of what remission means for all of us?!

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently, and in the last few months, I feel like my definition of remission looks totally different than what I thought it was.

I would say that for where I am now- remission looks like having more energy each day, being pain free at least a few days a week, not having pain with bowel movements and only having 1-3 bowel movements a day. Remission looks like less chronic fatigue, being able to eat without fear, and having more energy to not only do the things I ‘need’ to do, but the things I ‘want’ to do.

I’m sure this definitely will change and evolve for me… and I’m accepting that.

What does remission look like for you? I encourage you to write it down in a notebook with the date, so you can see how perhaps it changes overtime. Or make a post/story and tag us on IG or FB! We would love to hear from you!
